WASH WITH SIMILAR COLOURS

Only group garments with similar shades together. Avoid mixing with items featuring zips, embroidery or elements that could snag the fibre. Do not overload the drum to minimise friction.

Low temperature

CHOOSE A LOW TEMPERATURE PROGRAMME

Use a delicate or wool cycle with cold water. The temperature should not exceed 20°C to preserve the softness and shape of the cashmere.

Spin

REDUCE THE SPIN

Use a very gentle spin, ideally 400 rpm maximum, or disable it altogether if your machine allows it.

Laundry bag

PROTECT THE GARMENT IN A LAUNDRY BAG

Place your cashmere throw, jumper or scarf in a laundry bag to prevent friction with the drum.

Suitable detergent

USE A SUITABLE DETERGENT

Choose a detergent specially designed for wool or delicate fibres. Avoid fabric softener, which can alter the natural quality of cashmere.

Cold water

COLD WATER AND SUITABLE DETERGENT

Fill a basin or clean sink with a small amount of cold water. Add a dose of wool detergent or a very mild shampoo (such as baby shampoo). Never use fabric softener.

Gentle washing

GENTLE WASHING

Submerge the garment in the soapy water and clean it gently by pressing the knit with your fingertips. Avoid rubbing, wringing or pulling the fibre to preserve its softness and shape.

Rinsing

RINSE GENTLY

Rinse your cashmere in clean water, applying light pressure to remove the detergent. It is best not to rinse it directly under a strong water jet.

Flat drying

WRINGING AND FLAT DRYING

To remove excess water, roll your garment in a towel and press gently. Then lay your cashmere flat on a clean towel so it retains its natural shape.

Drying and ironing

DRYING AND IRONING

To preserve the softness and shape of your cashmere, it is essential to dry it correctly.

After washing, gently roll your cashmere piece in a clean towel to absorb excess water, without ever wringing it. Then lay your throw, jumper... flat on a dry towel, reshaping it to its natural form.

Let your cashmere dry in the open air, away from direct sunlight and any heat source such as a radiator.

Drying can take time: depending on the thickness of the garment, allow up to 2 to 3 days for it to dry completely.

If necessary, you can remove creases using a little steam or an iron on a low temperature, always on the reverse side of the garment, to respect the delicacy of the fibre.

Daily care

DAILY CARE

Cashmere is a natural, soft and living fibre. Like all noble materials, it sometimes contains a few surface fibres which, over time and with friction, can form small pills. This is perfectly normal and does not affect the quality of the cashmere.

Regular care helps preserve the full beauty of this material. Contrary to popular belief, cashmere loves water: washing it gently helps nourish the fibre and restore its suppleness and lustre. Mongolian herders are fond of saying that "the more you wash cashmere, the more beautiful it becomes".

To maintain the original appearance of your pieces, it is recommended to remove pills with a cashmere comb or a stone specially designed for this purpose. By running the tool gently over the knit, you remove surface fibres without damaging the fabric.

To limit their appearance, a few simple habits can be adopted:

  • Follow care instructions to preserve and nourish the fibre.
  • Avoid repeated friction with bags, zips or rough materials.
  • Remove pills gently without pulling on the threads, ideally using a suitable comb.

The cashmere comb is used by gently gliding it over the surface of the garment, always in the direction of the knit. This simple gesture instantly restores the silky appearance of your throw, garment or cushion cover.

With these few attentions, your cashmere pieces will retain their softness and elegance for years to come.
